July 12th & 13th, 2010.

Yesterday was pretty uneventful.. More driving. :)Slade figured out a new system of washing his own hands at our rest stops!
We drove passed this school in Kansas and Kenzie made us go back.. It was the name of her Junior High, and the Mascot of her High School! And it was in the ghetto just like her schools. ;)

The kids took to blowing bubble gum to stay entertained for a bit.
I got sucked into the gum chewing/bubble blowing only seconds after they started. :)

That night for dinner we stopped at this place called "Ted's Montana Grill." It was seriously probably one of the best burgers I've ever had! Grandma got a buffalo steak and she loved it too. The kids had homemade macoroni cheese and they said they loved it as well. I wish they'd open one back home!!Kenzie made me take this picture of St. Louis as we were driving into it.. I think it was the first city with sky scrapers we'd seen since we left home!

Kenz was really upset when we saw that the state marker for Missouri wasn't one we could get out and take a picture with.. They started referring to it as "Misery." ;)

Kenz took this as we were driving the old cobble stone back streets in "Misery." The Missouri river was so full that it was flooding everywhere.
The kids were super hot as we were looking at the arch in Missouri.. They aren't used to how humid it is here.
The arch in Missouri... That black lump standing under it is the kids. :)
We drove right passed the stadium where the Cardinals play and Kenz had to snap a few pictures for the baseball fan Dad back home. :)

We missed the tiny Indiana sign on the road, but thankfully a rest stop just over the border had this one.. Thank goodness for those rest stops!! :)
Tonight we're staying in the Marriot in Indianapolis. We THOUGHT we got a great deal on the room, and there was even a Starbucks in the lobby! But after everything got settled and all the extra fees were added on, we've learned our lesson on using Priceline.
The kids (mainly Kenzie) keep complaining about the humidity. They're used to that dry, mountain Utah air!
Hopefully tomorrow will bring more fun experiences, we'll blog back soon! :)
